Milli Janatková and Jaroslav Kořán are releasing a double album Songs of the Day and Songs of the Night, launching on May 13, 2026, at Čítárna Unijazz in Prague. The album is a cross-section of their fifteen-year musical collaboration. Janatková layered spontaneous vocal improvisations over Kořán’s musical motifs, which were later enriched with additional instruments and arrangements. The result is a diverse collection of compositions oscillating between energetic improvisation and ambient soundscapes, inspired by the sounds of nature and the city, as well as the shared playfulness of both artists.

Milli Janatková was chosen to attend a Visiting Program – Contemporary Music in Munich, Germany, where musicians and music curators from Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Czechia meet. The four-day program offers an in-depth insight into Munich’s contemporary experimental music scene, its venues and artists, and the program of the Münchener Biennale Festival for new music theatre. The program is made possible by Musikbüromuc, Pro Helvetia, Austrian Music Export, and SoundCzech, and supported by the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts, the Munich Biennale, and the Czech Center Munich.

Milli Janatková has been cooperating with non-profit organizations for a long time and also donates her artworks, which are exhibited at auction salons. This year she supports Muses for Children (Múzy dětem) and children from orphanages.

Milli is also for the fifth time a part of the Auction exhibition for Konto Bariéry to support students with disabilities. Out of the five works, three have already been successfully sold, and two of them can be purchased in the catalogue.

Milli Janatková, in collaboration with her husband, created and successfully completed a three-month campaign for the non-profit organization Alliance for Individualized Support (AIP). This Alliance brings together around sixty parent, patient, and professional organizations dedicated to informal caregivers and their loved ones with serious disabilities or diseases. Through this campaign, the Alliance secured funding for further meaningful activities. What exactly does the Alliance do?

  • It advocates for the rights of specific families,
  • provides feedback on the Social Services Act,
  • supports legislative amendments that increase care allowances,
  • it helped define caregiving persons in law and strives for their financial recognition,
  • publishes professional literature,
  • organizes conferences and workshops,
  • works to ensure the availability of social services in local communities,
  • raises public awareness through documentary videos about caregiving families,
  • it is also active in advocacy and holds regular meetings with policymakers.
