Milli Janatková performs in three states of India
An authentic singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer and visual artist, Milli Janatková is an eclectic artist who effortlessly interconnects artistic forms and genres. Apart from singing, she plays guitar, drums, and uses looping devices. The original author is going to perform in India – West Bengal (Kolkata and surroundings), Maharashtra (Mumbai) and Tamil Nadu (Chennai) in November and December 2024.
Based in the heart of Europe in the Czech Republic, Milli Janatková has visited countless places in Europe, the USA and Asia. The concerts in India are supported by the export office SoundCzech and project The Year of Czech Music, in collaboration with Indian organizations Banglanatak.com and Exodus. The concerts are going to take place in Kolkata and other places around between November 20 and 30. She is going to collaborate with the best Bengali artists and also painting and showing her art work at Kantha Women Village, too. She is cooperating with a famous Bengali singer Dipannita Acharya, preparing for recording sessions. After West Bengal Tour Milli is going to perform at Mumbai Jazz Festival and Madras Jazz Festival on December 7 and 8.
Milli performed at festivals in India (Banglanatak.com collaboration), Nepal (Nepal Academy of Fine Arts), Denmark (Jødisk Kulturfestival in Copenhagen), France (Paris-Prague Jazz Club and Centre Tchéque de Paris) or Greece (Athens Blackbox Jazz Festival and Lefkada). She composed music for a Czech-Canadian musician Lenka Lichtenberg in her project Thieves of Dreams that won the prestigious JUNO Award – Global Music Album (Canadian Grammy Award). In 2010 Milli also performed with a Brazilian jazz guitarist Nelson Faria.
Milli has produced and released four solo albums – Quiet, Please! (2022), Deep (2020), To My Roots (2017) and Transformation (2013). Her music has been awarded the LIT Talent Music Awards, LIT Music of the Year, The Independent Music Awards (USA) and Classic Prague Awards (Crossover). Recently she has performed solo and worked on her new project IN RHYTHM.
